Curious about roller derby? Thinking about joining a team? Or just want to try something fun, active, and a little bit badass to kick off 2026? Come along to our Have-A-Go Day and see what derby is all about!
We’ll start with a relaxed intro presentation covering:
- What roller derby is
🤝 How WA Roller Derby works
💪 What training looks like (yes, beginners are absolutely welcome!)
Then you’ll get to try some off-skates fun, including safely practicing a derby-style focus-pad hit with our qualified coaches.
After that, it’s time to lace up!
Hop into a pair of skates and roll around, chat with our friendly skaters, and get a feel for the community that makes derby so special. No experience needed — we love total beginners!
✨ What to bring:
• Comfy clothes you can move in
• A water bottle
• Socks if you need to borrow skates
• If you have skates/ pads, otherwise loan gear is available
• Your sense of adventure!

✨ Ages: 18+
